ABSTRACT
The article presents news on U.S. politics and government and international affairs as of May 1981. Several liberal groups are being organized to stage a protest in Washington, D.C. against the U.S. intervention in El Salvador. Their leaders include Benjamin Spock, Eqbal Ahman and Michael Parenti. A response to the charge that the Maryknoll order has been influenced by Marxism was issued by the "National Catholic Reporter." Maksim Shostakovich, the son of Dmitri Shostakovich, defected to the West.
