ABSTRACT
This article features the installation of the LEADER driver-assistance system on locomotives of trains operated by Israel Railways. The system calculated an optimum speed profile of a train. The core elements of the model are masses, traction characteristics, brake performance and resistances. The system measured the track topology during its test by the railway operator.
