ABSTRACT
The article presents the author's experience of working as a staff writer for a magazine. The author was signed an assignment to cover plumbing and home repairs. He was asked to prepare a two-page spread, with pictures, on the art of installing a new toilet. According to the author, plumbing proved to be a grimly impressive science. The author had to work hard on his assignment and made himself accustomed with the words like floor flanges, spud pipes, wax gaskets, soil stacks, clean out plugs, and house traps. The author shows enthusiasm towards his prospects of becoming a series planner.
