ABSTRACT
The article reports on the exhibition of sculptured fragments from the Cathedral of Notre Dame at the Metropolitan Museum in New York. The sculptures represent Gothic art and were part of an ancient culture. The fragments were discovered in April 1977 by workmen digging up an 18th century courtyard behind the Banque Francaise du Commerce Exterieur.
