ABSTRACT
This article offers some insight on various issues related to politics in the U.S. as of June 1979. The first item deals with the campaign for re-election of U.S. President Jimmy Carter. The author notes that his campaign is well-organized and running at full throttle. According to him, Carter is sticking to the winning formula. In the second item, the author argues that the Strategic Arms Limitation Talks (SALT) package is aimed at stopping Edward Kennedy from running for the U.S. presidency. There are problems though with this SALT gambit.
