ABSTRACT
The article presents information on several books and the Mobil Foundation. Some of the books are "Mexico Bay," by Paul Horgan, "Why We Were in Vietnam," by Norman Podhoretz, "The New Right Papers," edited by Robert W. Whitetaker and "Nobody's Angel," by Thomas McGuane. The Mobil Foundation has indicated that the so-called Writers' Congress is demanding the return of the thousand-dollar check it donated to the Congress in July 1982. The Mobil foundation charges that the meeting was not aimed at preserving the character and quality of literary culture in the U.S.
