ABSTRACT
The article assesses the quality of wines and the state of wine-making in New York. It also looks at how the changing tastes of wine drinkers in the U.S. are affecting wine production in the state. Differences between the wine-making methods of the East and the West are pointed out. Ways on how to make a more palatable wine from labrusca grapes are identified.
