ABSTRACT
This article comments on the visit of Pope John Paul II in France in 1980. The religious official has a desire to settle even the political issues in the nation. Originally the plan of the Pope was to visit Lourdes, but his plans changed. He sets an appointment with the political leaders of the country including François Mitterrand and Georges Marchais. In this regard, the author states that the Pope may be helpful to prevent civil wars and international conflicts.
