ABSTRACT
The article presents updates on world politics as of July 22, 1983. In the U.S., an investigation has been conducted about the rewriting of official transcripts of House hearings. Journalist Colman McCarthy has interviewed Soviet novelist Aleksandr Solzhenitsyn about his government. However, the "Washington Post" felt constrained to print the relevant portion of the interview, in which Solzhenitsyn speaks of all those non-Communists who travel to Soviet-sponsored congresses. The arrival in the Czech Republic of a peace delegation from the West drew a comment. The movement was criticized for making life more difficult for rulers.
