ABSTRACT
The article praises a campaign strategy of Republican presidential candidate Ronald Reagan in the U.S. as of October 17, 1980. Reagan's refusal to debate incumbent U.S. President Jimmy Carter is working well for him. His speeches tell audiences about the dismal record of Carter. Reagan's campaign cuts deep into the public as representing change and answer to the economic stagnation. Meanwhile, Carter's camp still uses the old, but this time, ineffective tactics, when he campaigned for governor of Georgia.
