The article focuses on the defection of Bolshoi Ballet star Aleksandr Godunov from the Soviet Union to the U.S. His wife Bolshoi soloist Lyudmila Vlasova has returned to the Soviet Union. Lillian Libman of Nederlander organization, which is managing the American tour of Bolshoi, has expressed regret over the defection of Godunov.
