ABSTRACT
The article presents global political news briefs as of December 31, 1980. A list of the new U.S. Republican senators who will arrive in Washington on January 5, 1981 is presented. A conference in Washington was called by Martin Peretz of The New Republic to discusses things about the New Democratic Party. The French Communist Party paper "L'Humanité" has been put on the spot by the threatened Soviet invasion of Poland. The city of Jacksonville in Florida claims that it is the only major city in the U.S. to be free of pornography.
