ABSTRACT
The article presents a study which determines the impact of library marketing in selected private libraries on the academic setting in the Philippines. It states that libraries are challenged to market due to the competition posed by mega-bookstores and the Internet community through the use of effective marketing strategies. The study focuses the academic libraries in Far Eastern University and the University of the East with two types of respondents such as the librarians and patrons. The study found out that the academic libraries have used effective marketing measures, however, they lack of adequate funds and staff to market library services. It also recommends active participation from library users to better promote services.
