A study of library and information services of schools for the deaf in Metro Manila : evolving guidelines for the provision of quality services for the deaf

The article presents a study which determines the information service offered by libraries to people with hearing and speaking disabilities in the Philippines. It states that libraries in the country provide special services for the blind, however, the deaf, who also have special reading, learning, and communication problems do not get as much services as the former do. The study found out that most libraries in the country have failed to provide minimum requirements set by national standards particularly special services to meet specific needs of the deaf.
