The article presents a study which examines the characteristics and properties of the Spanish records in the Records Management and Archives Office (RMAO) in the Philippines. It states that RMAO protects and safeguards the extensive collection of Spanish records during the colonial period in the country. It analyzes the records using the Preservation of the Integrity of Electronic Records to identify the elements of a traditional and genetic record. The study found out that RMAO has a system of arrangement in place for its collection, however, there are instances when parts of the same file are misplaced. It also encourages researchers to utilize the collections for their field of study.
