ABSTRACT
The article presents a study which determines the information Literacy competencies of English 10 and Komunikason 2 students in the University of the Philippines in Quezon City, Philippines. It highlights the use of the literacy standards of the Association of College and Research Libraries (ACRL) to find out if General Education courses such as English 10 and Komunikasyon 2, were enough to mold the students to be independent information seekers. Furthermore, the study also aims to know the perceptions of the students about the two courses for teachers to focus on areas or aspects of information literacy that need more priority.
