The article discusses the impact of the British government's implementation of a permanent immigration cap on employers' recruitment programs. The permanent cap uses a points-based system that will permit the entry of immigrants by means of an annual quota instead of in response to employers' needs. A number of companies that hire from non-European Union (EU) countries where they do business disagree with the government's immigration policy. Employers also say they never considered foreign workers as their first resort for their labor supply.
