ABSTRACT
The article focuses on the benefits of the regulatory changes regarding commercial hauling, introduced by the U.S. Federal Motor Carrier Safety Administration (FMCSA), for insurers. The FMCSA has widened the scope of its Compliance, Safety, Accountability program that focuses on identifying motor safety issues among carriers and the new regulations will provide insurance underwriters of a detailed understanding regarding the management of risks by commercial haulers.
