ABSTRACT
The article reports on the political developments around the world with a focus on the political conditions in the U.S. Washington D.C. is exempted from the affirmative action rules. U.S. President Jimmy Carter is indecisive over whether to withdraw itself from the International Labor Organization (ILO) or not. The ILO is a tripartite organization that has members from the government, labor, and industry. The Chamber of Commerce and the American Federation of Labor and Congress of Industrial Organization has decided they will withdraw irrespective of the government's decision. Four Czech dissidents have been convicted of subversive activities against the foundation of Czechoslovakia. They were arrested as part of the harassment of the Charter 77 group.
