ABSTRACT
The article presents information on the America's Cup yachting events that were held in Newport, Rhode Island. The French, the Swedish, and the two Australian boats have had to fight it out in trials and eliminations to get selected for the final round. Swedes are the favorite in the race. The America's Cup is the most noble and fetish-ridden of yachting events. The yachtsmen involved in the America's Cup, which includes the skippers and navigators and sail-makers and designers and managers, give the impression of not being sailors but supernal businessmen who loose their demonic energies in the race.
