ABSTRACT
The article presents news briefs related to politics and government in the U.S. Democratic U.S. Senate leaders have set October 15, 1977, as tentative adjournment date for this session of the U.S. Congress. Major legislation is the energy bill, Social Security financing, and an increase in the federal debt ceiling. Eighty-one U.S. congressmen have written the U.S. Olympic Committee to express their concern that Israel will be frozen out of the Moscow 1980 Olympics as the result of a Soviet-Third World campaign to oust them from the various Olympic federations.
