ABSTRACT
The article presents the strategies used by several foodservice operators in adopting social media to connect with their customers. Cal Poly Pomona Foundation Inc. of California State Polytechnic University in Pomona has a Facebook page which displays photographs and videos of dining events on campus. Deon Lategan, dining services director at Colorado State University recalls that students prefer updates from Facebook over electronic mail. Bon Appétit bakery at California-based Oracle uses Twitter and Facebook accounts to promote is products.
