ABSTRACT
The article discusses cases about reverse discrimination in the U.S. The Justice Department filed two cases concerning consent decrees. In the first case, the Justice Department supports a labor union and a 12-year veteran who was fired from his job. He was replaced by a two-year veteran and the department argues that the Civil Rights Act of 1964 protects valid seniority rules. The second case deals with a race-conscious governance which, the department argues, undermines whites and Hispanics of both sexes.
