ABSTRACT
The article discusses the economic condition of the U.S. as October 1976. It claims that economic statistics for July to August 1976, including those on retail sales, industrial production, corporate profits, factory shipments, real gross national product growth, and plant and equipment expenditures, had been revised to give a favorable view of the economy. It discusses the reason why unemployment keeps rising and cites the growth of employment in the country since March 1975.
