ABSTRACT
The article talks about the opinions handed down by the U.S. Supreme Court in 1976-1977. The Court chose to leave the jurisdiction of a former river bed to the state. Justice Powell's statement about the ruling on funding for elective abortions is offered. The Court refused to modify Miranda in the interest of bringing an obviously guilty murderer to justice.
