ABSTRACT
The article focuses on the tendency of people in the United States to associate integrity with geographic location or one's decision where to live. According to the author, the Berkeley generation is now plotting strategic points of entry into middle class adulthood, and for that, geographic location is almost as salient as professional occupation. According to the author, she and her husband often deliberate about where to embark on the good life. She claims that San Francisco was the spiritual and political capital of young Americans. Moreover, California was for lolling, communing, idealizing, and ecologizing.
