ABSTRACT
The article focuses on world politics with reference to the East-West bipolarity. The first real World System was the European Imperial System, which consisted of three sectors namely Europe including the Soviet Union, the European Empire and the Western Hemisphere and Japan. The World War I split Europe into Eastern and Western parts. The Second World War worsened the East-West split in Europe. It also propelled China into a Communist takeover in 1949. In Southeast Asian politics, the line through Tonkin to the South China Sea was moved forward to the Gulf of Siam without any topographical or cultural rationale.
