ABSTRACT
The article presents news briefs related to political developments in the U.S. Prominent sociologist and political writer Seymour Martin Lipset recognizes the reason for the poor performance of U.S. President Jimmy Carter. Reporter Myron Farber of the newspaper "The New York Times" has been sentenced to jail for contempt of court following his refusal to assign his notes on the Dr. X murder case. Politician Theodore Frisbie of Blackshear, Georgia, failed to win the Republican nomination for Pierce County Commission Chairman.
