ABSTRACT
Am I the only person baffled by the ludicrous method by which gas consumption bills are calculated? The following procedure apparently must be followed: Subtract the previous reading from the current reading, call that number X, multiply it by 2.83, multiply it by 39.4, multiply it by 1.022640, divide by 3.6 and you will, it seems, arrive at a figure expressed in kWh. Why not simply state that X is charged at a particular rate? Ron Terry, Portsmouth (Email)
