Hemangiomas of skeletal muscle are extremely rare benign neoplasms. In the head and neck region, intramuscular hemangiomas occur most frequently in the masseter and trapezius muscles. However, intramuscular hemangiomas (IMH) arising from the mentalis muscle are relatively rare. Preoperative diagnosis of head and neck IMH is rendered difficult by its rarity and nonspecific clinical findings. Total excision of the hemangioma with a margin of normal muscle is recommended. In this report, a case of mentalis muscle hemangioma, which was surgically excised by transoral approach and histopathologically confirmed the diagnosis of capillary-type IMH, was presented and the clinical, histologic fîndings and treatment modalities are discussed.
