ABSTRACT
The article focuses on the emergence of several network-branded award shows on television including TV Land Awards show, MTV Video Music Awards, and Kids' Choice Awards of Nickelodeon. It says that the creation and airing of televised awarding help the network's marketing and brand-building for their strong drag on television ratings. It adds that such shows help the networks introduce their other shows to the viewers such as the premiere for the "World of Jenks" and "Teen Wolf" of MTV Networks.
