ABSTRACT
The article discusses ways to maximize value in merger and acquisitions (M&A) of service centers in the U.S. It states the trend for publicly-traded steel service centers which notes that 2011 will be a good year for buyers and sellers to find common valuation ground. It cites three steps before mid-market service centers choose to sell their business including understanding its value before selling, not to be swayed by the price of the steel and examining potential post-transaction realities.
