ABSTRACT
The distribution of the spacings between the intermediate levels of the most intense cascades in about 40 nuclei is analyzed. The obtained results confirm the earlier made hypothesis about the probable harmonicity of the excitation spectra of intermediate levels of intense cascades. The equidistant period of harmonic vibrations was determined to be approximately proportional to the number of the boson pairs in the unfilled nuclear shells. © 2000 American Institute of Physics.
