We measured the cross sections of the [sup 6]Li(n,γ)[sup 7]Li reaction at the stellar energy for the first time. The measured cross sections were compared with potential model calculations with a folded potential, and good agreement was obtained. Moreover, the calculation with the same potential and a Coulomb potential also substantially reproduced the recently measured cross sections of the [sup 6]Li(p,γ)[sup 7]Be reaction. It will support the charge symmetry of nuclear forces in A=7 systems. © 2000 American Institute of Physics.
