ABSTRACT
The estimate of the power spectrum of voltage fluctuations during the electroporation process in a bilayer lipid membrane has been performed with two methods. Different methods (correlogram and periodogram) give different results indicating that the interpretation of the data is ambiguous. Fluctuations in economical time-series show a similar behavior. Such ambiguous results are discussed in terms of stationary and ergodic properties of the system. © 2000 American Institute of Physics.
