ABSTRACT
We give a brief review of developments in the field of exotic hadrons formed of more than three quarks and/or antiquarks. In particular we discuss the stability of multiquark systems containing heavy flavors. We show that the gluon exchange model and the chiral constituent quark model based Goldstone boson (pseudoscalar meson) exchange give entirely different results. The t-channel contribution to the difference of electromagnetic polarizabilities of the nucleon, (α - β)t, can be quantitatively understood in terms of a σ-meson pole in the complex t-plane of the invariant scattering amplitude A 1( s, t) with properties of the σ-meson as given by...

We argue that the low-lying scalar-meson nonet [1] makes part of a subset of a family of infinitely many scalar-meson nonets, which in turn makes part of a family of infinitely many quark-antiquark bound states and resonances. We outline the properties of this subset.

The electric form factor of the c $$\overline {\text{s}}$$uū tetraquark with J = 0 (M = 2691 MeV) in the field of a small and intermediate momentum transfer Q ≤ 1 GeV is calculated for the relativistic quark model. The charge radius of this state is determined.

This talk shows recent results for the contributions of Meson Exchange Currents (MEC) and relativistic effects on the elastic electron scattering structure functions of the deuteron in the context of several recent models. These calculations show that these effects are substantial at 1 GeV2 and...

The narrow D s0 * (2317) and broad D 0 * (2300-2400) charmed scalar mesons and their radial excitations are described in a coupled-channel quark model that also reproduces the properties of the light scalar nonet. All two-meson channels containing ground-state pseudoscalars and vectors are...

Non-exotic scalar-meson resonances in S-wave meson-meson scattering are studied in the light of a unitarised Schrödinger model. The resulting poles in the scattering matrices, by analytical continuation into the complex-energy plane, are grouped into nonets of isoscalar, isodoublet, and...

It is shown that a chiral quark model of the Nambu-Jona-Lasinio type can be used to describe "soft"-momentum parts of the amplitudes with large momentum transfer. As a sample, the processes ?[SUP*]??(p,?,?'), where one of the photons, ?[SUP*], has large spacelike virtuality, are investigated....

A chiral quark model is described which is regularized in terms of Lorentz invariant non-local interactions. The model is regularized to all loop orders and it ensures the proper quantization of the baryon number. It sustains bound hedgehog solitons which, after suitable center of mass...
