Elastic form factors provide information about the charge and current distribution inside proton and neutron. Recent coincidence experiments improved our knowledge of the neutron form factors significantly. The results from the [sup 3]Hvector e(evector ,e[sup ′]n) and D(evector ,e[sup ′],nvector ) double polarization experiments at MAMI indicate that the neutron electric form factor is almost a factor of two larger than previously assumed from D(e,e[sup ′]) elastic scattering. © 2000 American Institute of Physics.
