Schro¨dinger cat states of two bosonic modes

The possibility of generating bosonic bimodal Schro¨dinger cat states is briefly demonstrated. The experimental scheme here presented relies on the existence of an intrinsically nonclassical effect stemming from the granularity of the quantized electromagnetic field. © 2000 American Institute of Physics.
