ABSTRACT
We report an experimental study on the structural and dynamic properties of model-peptides in solutions. The FTIR spectra of the N-α-acetylmethylglycinamine, a molecular complex owning two peptide units, are measured in different solvents and compared with the ones of the N-Methylacetamide, containing a single peptide group. Both for the complexes, the Amide I and II bands present spectral heterogeneity and appear largely modified by the solvent composition. The comparison between the two model-peptides points out the role played by the interactions between the different peptide units. © 2000 American Institute of Physics.
