ABSTRACT
The Trojan Horse Method has been applied to obtain information about [sup 7]Li(p,α)[sup 4]He reaction at astrophysical energies. The [sup 7]Li(d,α n)[sup 4]He reaction has been used and the two body reaction cross section for the [sup 7]Li(p,α)[sup 4]He has been extracted together with its astrophysical factor S(E). © 2000 American Institute of Physics.

Because of the Coulomb barrier, reaction cross sections in astrophysics cannot be accessed directly at the relevant Gamow energies, unless very favourable conditions are met (e.g. LUNA - underground experiments). Theoretical extrapolations of available data are then needed to derive the...

A fusion reaction of 12C+4He→16O+γ is one of the main reactions in He-burning of stars and important for nucleosynthesis. The fusion cross section at stellar energy of Ecm = 0.3 MeV has not been determined precisely yet in spite of efforts for about 40 years. We plan to measure...

The relevant astrophysical reaction rates which are derived from the reaction cross sections are necessary input to the reaction network. In this work, we analyse several theoretical models of the nuclear potential which give better prediction of the cross sections for some selected reactions.
