Near threshold two meson production via the reactions pd→[sup 3]Heπ[sup +]π[sup -] and pd→[sup 3]HeK[sup +]K[sup -] was measured kinematically complete with the MOMO experiment at COSY. The obtained two pion invariant mass spectra and angular distributions depict a remarkable deviation from phase space. The two kaon data are consistent with phase space topped by a clear signal of the &fgr; meson. © 2000 American Institute of Physics.

On the basis of the dynamical model for meson photoproduction on nucleons, it is shown that only eight broad resonances (of width in excess of 120 MeV), of which two belong to the class of missing resonances, are required for reproducing experimental data from the threshold for the reaction...

Results are presented that were obtained by studying the previously unknown narrow resonance of mass about 1070 MeV. This state was discovered in the system of two KS mesons. The experimental data subjected to the analysis here come from the 6-m spectrometer created at the Institute of...

We derive a simple expression for the production amplitude of two pseudoscalar mesons involving a single scalar resonance. This amplitude is determined by a combination of Watson's phase δ(s) and another phase ω(s), related to an unambiguous two-meson propagator. With a lagrangian model,...

The strong coupling of rho meson to the nucleon produces s- and p-wave rho-meson-nucleon ( ρN) resonances. In a nucleus, the ρN-resonance-hole polarization generates the optical potential or self-energy for the ρ meson. The scattering of ρ meson due to this potential provides...

The G asymmetry of the γ p↦ Nπ reaction has been measured for the first time for E γ = 340±14 MeV. This observable, for which very scarce published data exist, plays an important role to disentangle the contributions of the various nucleon resonances. The experiment, performed...
