ABSTRACT
The article discusses the possibility of voluntary payments to offset property taxes n lieu of taxes (PILOT) for nonprofit organizations in New Hampshire. It is inferred that PILOT helps funding municipal services including police and fire protection, snow plowing, and waste management. Moreover, PILOT was seen to be a winning revenue source for municipalities in recession.
