Chicago inspectors embrace BlackBerry

The article reports on the installation of the Mobile Electronic Ticketing (MET) system in the city of Chicago, Illinois. The MET system has been supplied by ObjectWave Corp. and will be used by over 125 ward superintendents and refuse-collection coordinators working for the Department of Streets and Sanitation. It mentions that such move has allowed the city to save on costs as the system allowed BlackBerry smartphones already issued to city workers to replace laptops. Several benefits of the system are mentioned, one is reduction in paperwork.
