ABSTRACT
The article reports on the plan of Silgan Holdings, a packaging company, to issue about 4 billion U.S. dollars in debt to finance its acquisition of Graham Packaging from the Blackstone Group. According to Silgan, the debt will include bank loans and bonds, with the Bank of America as advisor. Under the acquisition deal, shareholders of Graham will receive 0.402 shares of Silgan common stock and 4.75 U.S. dollars in cash for each share of the common stock of Graham.
