ABSTRACT
The article announces that Iamgold Corp. has sold its 18.9% interest in the Tarkwa and Damang gold mines located in Ghana to Gold Fields Ltd. The interest was sold for 667 million dollars in cash and is expected to be finalized by mid-July 2011. According to Iamgold president and Chief Executive Officer Steve Letwin, they intend to invest in mines that they own and operate.
