ABSTRACT
The article presents the author's insights regarding the impact of swine influenza on health care system, scientific community, and democracy in Croatia. The author cites the controversial contradiction of the contract between Novartis AG and the Institute of Immunology regarding the vaccine of the influenza. She emphasizes that the development of the pandemic influenza vaccine is a subject for the discussion on the ethics and transparency of pharmaceutical industry's actions.
