On occasion of the centennial year of the two greatest Croatian soccer teams: brief review of the evidence base for team physicians

The article discusses the roles of soccer team physicians in preventing public and personal health hazards of soccer team players. It states that the main task of soccer team physicians is to keep their players in the best health condition to tolerate pain and strain of a professional soccer career. It indicates that soccer team physicians assist teams with smaller budget based on their knowledge and skills to lessen the gap in physical performance between successful and less successful teams.
