ABSTRACT
The article discusses the move of the Scottish Water to install a variable speed drive (VSD) solution to prevent pump blockages at its Levenhall Sewage Pumping Station (SPS) in East Lothian, Scotland. It states that the company's staff has been dealing with blockages and ragging dirty jobs as well as major draw on operational time and resources. The company has implemented the VSD solution coupled with Intelligent Pump Control (IPC) software that helps improve operation performance.
