ABSTRACT
The article reports on the issues addressed by Steve Anderson, chief executive officer (CEO) of the National Association of Chain Drug Stores Inc. (NACDS), at the NACDS Regional Chain Conference in the U.S. It highlights the topics stressed by Anderson which include medication adherence and pharmacy reimbursement. It outlines the study conducted by the New England Healthcare Institute which revealed that poor medication adherence leads to an annual healthcare cost of 290 million dollars.
