ABSTRACT
The article reports on the acquisition of Epicor Software Group and privately owned Activant Solutions Inc. by private equity firm Apax Partners for a grand total of two billion U.S. dollars. The debt financing for the completion of the deal is being arranged by Bank of America Merrill Lynch and RBC Capital Markets. Apax partner Jason Wright says the deal is expected to expand the operations of Epicor particularly in wholesale distribution as well as automotive, hardlines, lumber and specialty retailing.
